Praise for The Coaching MD

"I had almost thrown in the towel on having a relationship with my 15 year-old ADHD son. Everyone was miserable. I was initially very skeptical that coaching for me would change his behaviors. However, about 3 weeks into the program, I noticed small changes with him. The weeks were getting better. I was WAY less frustrated.  He seemed happier. Our relationship was improving. His relationship with his dad (who wasn't even working with Carol) was better. I initially thought it was a fluke, but week by week, things continued to improve. It was not totally linear - there were ups and downs - but by the end of the 10 weeks, it was almost like he was a different child. The happy one I remembered from earlier years. To be successful, you have to be willing to be totally honest with Carol and yourself. Carol is very, very easy to talk to and makes being honest with yourself eye opening and even a little bit fun! I know that we will have struggles down the road, but knowing that I can schedule a follow up session with Carol is very reassuring. There is no doubt in my mind that working with Carol at the Coaching MD saved my relationship with my son."

I am so grateful for the time I spent with Carol in the parent coaching program. I can honestly say it fundamentally changed the way I approach conversations with my child who has ADHD - the anxiety and stress that used to consume me in these times are greatly diminished, due to everything I learned in the lessons she offers. I cannot speak highly enough about how valuable this has been to me and my family, and I recommend it to people all the time!

"My coaching sessions with Carol were an investment – in myself, in my child, in my future. And now having completed the 10-week course, it’s an investment I would make 100 times over. I can’t begin to describe the value I got from each hour I spent with Carol (and the hours I spent contemplating and applying what I learned from her). At the most basic and wonderful level, it helped me be a better parent to my neurodivergent son – it gave me practical tools and methods (brilliant in their simplicity) to better connect and build relationship with him. And not just “do this, then that” tools, but a deep understanding of what lies beneath behavior, what drives and shapes them, and how to alter my own way of thinking and acting to influence the better outcome we all want. But beyond that, what left me awestruck (truly) was how much our time together was so much more than ‘parent coaching.’ Carol’s perspective, insight, humor, loving nature, and off-the-charts IQ and EQ meant that each week, I learned something about the human experience; how we each process thoughts and feelings, how we can control and manipulate those thoughts and feelings (for good and bad), and how, at the end of the day, it’s really about loving yourself, giving yourself grace and compassion, and leading with curiosity vs. judgment. It was like being a student in the most fascinating, eye-opening class on life – a class I wished I’d had in my teens, my 20s, my 30s! I will be forever changed and forever grateful for my time with Carol. I am undoubtedly a better parent, daughter, sibling, friend, and all-around person thanks to her and what I take with me from this course. It has set me on a new path of reflection and introspection, and I simply can’t wait each day to use what I’ve learned. What a gift!"

"In addition to being a pediatrician for over 17 years, Carol has the lived experience of mothering a child with ADHD. She is an amazing listener, incredibly thoughtful, and kind. I can’t think of a better thought-partner to help me navigate my son’s ADHD."
